Nickel-Plated Steel wound strings were introduced in the late Sixties and have become the most popular alloy for electric guitars and bass. Nickel-plated steel tends to offer the most balanced tone.
Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Nickel-Plated Steel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped). The core-to-wrap ratio is the combined diameters of the core wire and the wrap wire which creates the overall diameter of the string.

Curt Mangan Strings
Simply the best strings I've ever used. I've been playing guitar for 60 years now and I've used every major brand plus I've tried many of the newer or indie brands. These strings have such a balanced tone and feel with the additional quality that they are extremely durable. I'm primarily a blues / rock player and I bend these strings without hesitation or limitation. I especially like the 9 - 46 gauge for the ease of playability and the nice fat bottom. I am a very happy customer. Come git yourself some of these. ♫♥♫
Fusion Matched Strings
In the past 50 years I have gone through many different brands and gauges of strings. Curt Mamgan makes strings that are about as good as you can get. Hybrid Gauge are for me E, A & D are from a 10 gauge set and give a really nice punch on the bottom end while the G, B & E are from a 9 gauge set. Retain their brilliance and snap 2 to 3 time longer than the Ernie Ball Hybrids I use to use. And all this at really great prices! Best thing though, if you call with a problem - most likely Curt himself will probably answer the call and personally take care of you! It just doesn't get any better that that! Thank you Curt! Loved these strings from the very first set! I had been using the same brand for years and have tried many others. I put these on and never looked back. Minimal stretch to get the first tuning, stay in tune and long lasting. Thanks Curt!

Tunes up quicker, stays in tune better, and sounds better than any string I've ever used. Awesome product. Steve R
Great Strings
Curts strings are great I use them on all my guitars. They hold tuning well and when you put a new set on you don't have to stretch them alot to get your first tuning. they also last a long time between changes. I have an old telecaster that I had them on for almost a year and they still sounded good when I changed them. Keep up the good work C.M.
