Nickel-Plated Steel wound strings were introduced in the late Sixties and have become the most popular alloy for electric guitars and bass. Nickel-plated steel tends to offer the most balanced tone.
Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Nickel-Plated Steel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped). The core-to-wrap ratio is the combined diameters of the core wire and the wrap wire which creates the overall diameter of the string.

9.5 Nickelwound Strings
I am not that picky about strings, but tried these after they were recommended to me, they are a little more expensive than my regular strings, but after trying them and buying them 6 sets at a time, I find them well worth it and will be ordering more. They feel, sound and play fantastic...they feel really high quality. I'm a convert!!
9.5 Nickelwound Electric
These are very good and, with the discount for buying a six-pack and free shipping, well worth the slight premium over the usual suspects. I replaced Ernie Ball cobalts, which were fine but not a lot of ring. These are on a MIM ash Tele with a Fralin vintage bridge and GFS Fatbody neck pickups and a 70s Strat with Lollar dirty blondes, both with maple necks, played through a Quilter Aviator Cub (highly recommended, BTW). The 9.5 Mangan have a nice, bright, clear, and versatile tone, from country to jazz. I don’t switch string brands often, so I expect to stick with these. I just purchased a six pack of 10s for shorter scale (Gibson, PRS) guitars.
Nickel Wound Bliss
Curt Mangan strings are my favorite. They feel under your fingers, sound awesome and are durable. Not to mention, they are competitively priced and I would say of more value than most.
9.5 nickel is the new fave!
The trend for lighter strings is real. I have played CM 10’s on my electric guitars for years. Moved to the CM 9.5’s and they are great. I put them on a Gibson SG that seemed stiff and the 9.5’s were perfect. I would say they are highly recommended for smoother playing.
Perfect gages getting older needed a lighter set 9’s we’re too light this is right in the middle,plus they sound great

Amazing Feel and Tone!
Its my first time ordering some Curt Mangan strings and it definitely won't be my last. These are the best strings I've ever played. They are super clear and resonate. I highly recommend them. And yes this is an actual real review. I read alot of reviews and always ask is this for real? Yes its actually for real.
9.5 - 44/46 set
Love his strings. Specifically his 9.5 to 44 and 46 gauge which is generally hard to get. I can absolutely recommend his product
Perfect
Right amount of everything for what I need. 9.5-44 feels just right on a strat for my hands. I've tried other brands, and they are okay, but these are absolutely perfect. They stay in tune, don't need any intonation adjustments, feel smooth, and of course, sound very clean. I'm buying these in 6 packs from here on out. I was paying twice as much for the equivalent with another brand. Thanks!
