Monel is a group of nickel alloys, primarily composed of about 67% nickel and 30% copper, with small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon and silicon. Monel is also known as Nickel Bronze. Stronger than pure nickel, Monel alloys are also very resistant to salt water (sweat). Monel is used on propellers and drive shafts on ocean vessels, aviation parts and high-end trumpet valves. It can be used on acoustic and electric instruments .Monel was the most popular alloy from the late 1800's up to the 1940's
