Curt Mangan 11-48 Electric Guitar Pure Nickel Set.

Gauges: 11-14-18-28w-38-48
String Length: 43 inches

Pure Nickel wound strings were used exclusively on most guitars built in Fifties and most of the Sixties. Pure Nickel has a slightly warmer tone than nickel-plated steel and is preferred by many blues artists.

Pure Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Pure Nickel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped).

Curt Mangan Pure Nickel
5 Stars

The Curt Mangan Pure Nickel strings are great, they last at least 3 times as long as regular strings. I highly recommend them.

The Best Guitar Strings!
5 Stars

Curt Mangan makes The Best Guitar Strings! Used them for years. Mangan strings sound very full and balanced, they last two or three times longer than most other strings, and even when they are old they still have pretty lively sound. When I first put new Curt Mangan strings on my guitars they need very little stretching to come up to pitch and stay there. They are quite stable their entire life. Mangan Strings are head a shoulders above any other brand I've tried, which Is why I've stayed with them!

100% Vintage Warmth!
5 Stars

These beauties will provide 100% vintage warmth! The day they arrived, I strung up my Telecaster and haven't put it down yet. The .11 gauge has enough meat to sustain/punch, but still retains that "slinkiness" for bending. Highly recommend. Try them, your ears and hands will thank you!

Simply the Best!
5 Stars

Like most players, I never put much thought into what strings I use except for the relative to the guitar I am stringing. I kept reading about Curt Mangan strings and thought I'd give them a try. After the first set, I've never looked back. These strings feel so smooth and sound musical for weeks even with frequent playing. Tolerances are precise and the quality is second to none. My only complaint was oxidation on wound strings if I didn't use a set in a few months. The new sealed packaging has eliminated that issue. I prefer pure nickel and appreciate the half gauge strings and the ability to make a set with personal gauges.

Tremendous

It's a subtle difference between Mangan and my now former favorites (D'addario), but somehow these seem more responsive, both in terms of sound and touch.

The best roundwounds I've ever used

nice feel, full, even sound .. fabulous on my 335 .... simply the best, glad I discovered them ...

Fantastic strings!
5 Stars

I play these on my 60s Classic Player Strat. I researched around 10 different brands/types of strings, and went as far as comparing these to other pure nickel sets. The Curt Mangan nickels played better, felt better, and sounded better. They have a slightly warmer tone (on my guitar) than other pure nickel sets. They also last forever, even with heavy use. I used to change my strings every 3-4 weeks - now, I change them every 3-4 months. People often comment on my tone, and I tell them that these strings are significant in the overall equation.
