I reviewed the wound strings in my custom set and they are wonderful. These (PLAIN STRINGS) will take some time to determine. The strings are a bit stiff and yes, crisp sounding. Don't bend quite as easily as other plain strings. Now I did say that I ordered these as a part of my custom set and I determine my string gauges by tension at pitch which gives a wonderfully matched set by both sound and playability and on my other 20 guitars this holds true. For these strings, they blend very nicely, but just a little tougher to bend than most. We'll see how I like them over time. Another thing is that these are on my Martin acoustic... Can't get them bronze coated.... We'll see how it goes.
