12-56 Bluegrass 80/20 Bronze

$11.91
80/20 Bronze wound strings are often called old-school, vintage and/or bright bronze and were the most popular (only) alloy used to make acoustic strings until the introduction of phosphor in the early Seventies. 80/20 bronze wire is made from 80 percent copper and 20 percent zinc. 80/20 bronze provides balanced highs and lows with a slight increase in mid-range that seems the make the notes cut-through a little more.

Acoustic Strings, Bronze 80/20 Bluegrass set
5 Stars

I have played many different 80/20 Bronze (can't stand the "hiss" of Phosphor bronze strings of any brand with their fake, immediate version of a bright tone). As a session player go through strings pretty fast (4-6 hours on a new set). I have been a dAddario (80/20 bluegrass set) devotee for a long time and only recently discovered your version. Your strings are far superior with more warmth and mid range tones on my Martins (1956 and 1971 D-28, OM-28, and 000-28) as well as my 1965 Gibson J-45. I have already ordered another batch and the other brand has only become a back up for single spares. I have already gifted some sets to friends around the Holidays and they are now rapid fans, thanking me for the enlightenment.

I love these strings on my 2004 Hd-28V Martin. I have tried many different sizes, phosphor-bronze and 80/20 bronze, nickel etc. I have tried lights, medium lights and mediums of several different companies. I like these strings! They sound perfect on this guitar which has an accented bass. Plus, they last and long time and sound just as good when they get old. Flat pick or strum...their great! SE
