This Curt Mangan® FusionMatched® coated phosphor bronze 12-string Requinto set is specially formulated for playing corridos and sierreño music, providing players with all the brilliant harmonic overtones you hear with non-coated string, along with 2-3 times more resistance to tarnish and corrosion.
Depending on the strength of your instrument's neck, tuning the entire guitar down a full step (D-G-C-F-A-D instead of E-A-D-G-B-E) will help to relieve the intense tension caused by the doubled strings and give the instrument its characteristic growling, acoustic-electronic tone.
