Curt Mangan 10-46 Electric Guitar String Pure Nickel Set.

Gauges: 10-13-17-26w-36-46
String Length: 43 inches

Pure Nickel wound strings were used exclusively on most guitars built in the Fifties and most of the Sixties. Pure Nickel has a slightly warmer tone than nickel-plated steel and is preferred by many blues artists.

Pure Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Pure Nickel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped).

Ever want to create your own customized and personalized guitar, bass, mandolin or banjo sets? Curt Mangan Strings lets you choose the alloy and custom gauge strings that you want, plus you can design your sets to be the perfect balanced tension sets you’ve been searching for. You can also have your name printed on the labels. Just click here for more information

First shot with this guage.........
5 Stars

I'm a huge fan of the half size set and went with the 10.5-.48 set for my 24.75 scale length guitars. I liked them a lot but thought I'd drop down one half gauge to see which I prefer the feel of. They're terrific sounding and playing strings.

Blown away for a change
5 Stars

I have been playing guitar for over 50 years, and very rarely am I really impressed with strings. I have tried just about every brand and type there is. The pure nickel 10-46's blew me away with the quality of sound, articulation, and separation, on my G&L. This is the sound I have been trying to get out of this guitar. I'm going to try Curt's strings on my PRS, Strat, and then my acoustics. Thanks Curt. I intend to try the coated strings next. I have to get back to playing now.

Sound Great, Last Long
5 Stars

I use these on both my Les Paul Faded Standard and my LsL '52 T-Bone (tele) and they have a nice balanced sound on both guitars. They are not overly bright. They also last longer than just about every other non-coated string brand I have used.

Excellent Strings

Great feel and incredible sound, just as advertised :)I wont waste another dime on other strings, Curt Mangan strings are the best.

Same great strings but new packaging!
5 Stars

I have previously written how great these strings are, but now the sealed packaging makes them perfect.

Tone
5 Stars

I've been playing guitar professionaly for fifty years and I use the curt mangan Pure Nickel strings on all my electric guitars simply because they allow the unique voice of each instrument to remain intact unlike any other string I have used. These strings have a wonderfully pleasing sound, producing beautifully balanced harmonics that embrace the fundamental tone like a velvet glove but can hit the front end of an amplifier like a hammer on an anvil if that is what I want. Also: If you have a "vintage" instrument these are the only strings to use.

Great Strings!
5 Stars

Have tried numerous brands of pure nickel strings (GHS Burnished, etc.), there's no doubt CM Pure Nickels are the most consistent and best sounding string I've tried. Perfect for taming a bright Strat or Tele!

I've finally found my sound
5 Stars

I've been playing guitar for nineteen years; the last five professionally. It's taken me a long time but I've finally found my tone in Curt's strings. After trying everything on the market including much more expensive brands like Thomastik (also a great string), Curt Mangan is the string I come back to every time. The low price is icing on the cake. Thank you, Mr. Mangan.

Best Strings Made!
5 Stars

Great sound, durable. An investment in my tone.

Very good string at an OK string price

You can get them cheaper from some retailers in single packs. It saves to multi-purchase from the site. The strings were shipped quickly and securely. Break in time is minimal, string crash is low, and timbre is great. The tension of this set was higher than my Pyramid 10-48 and required adjusting the truss rod and bridge spring tension. So far they have held both tone and tune (10 days)
