I tried a 'Pick of the Ricks" set on my short scale Lakland Bass and they were just right except the long scale didn't work on the low E string and the 105 gauge seemed too fat. So I ordered three short scale 100's to accommodate the three sets I had on hand. Wow! Perfection. I find these very long lasting and smooth feeling. I really like Curt Mangan strings! I love that you can assemble your own custom gauge sets.
