Monel electric guitar strings
I've been playing Curt Mangan's NickelWound round-core strings on my electrics for a few years now. I wanted to go up from 11s to 12s on a guitar I keep in Eb standard; Mangan didn't have 12s in the nickel-plated steel I'm used to, so I thought I'd try the Monels. Of course they sound a bit different just by virtue of the thicker gauge, but I'm very happy with the sounds I'm getting (had them on a few weeks now) and am preferring the extra tension of the 12s for this instrument.
Great tone and feel
I only learned about Monel as an option about six months ago having started playing in the '70s when Monel was no longer a type. I tried another maker's Monel strings but was not fond of the feel so got a regular set from Curt Mangan and loved the tone and the feel. I went with these to go with a lighter gauge as an experiment on my small bodied acoustics and am very happy. I have one set left and am going to try them on a jumbo. I will have to order more.
