Nickel-Plated Steel wound strings were introduced in the late Sixties and have become the most popular alloy for electric guitars and bass. Nickel-plated steel tends to offer the most balanced tone.
Nickel Wound strings are created by wrapping Nickel-Plated Steel alloys around a hex-shaped core wire which is made from tin-plated high-carbon steel (same as plain strings, but hex-shaped). The “core-to-wrap” ratio is the combined diameters of the core wire and the wrap wire which creates the overall diameter of the string.

Mangan 9.5 - 46
These are now my favorite strings. I had been using the same gauge from Stringjoy, but these are cheaper and sound just as good if not better.
9.5 NickelWound set
I’ve tried just about everything over my 30 years of playing, including custom made strings . The 9.5 gauge is just perfect for me. The strings last a long time (I’ve had sets last me upwards of 10 gigs) without loss of tone or tuning. They feel silky and have a nice snap. Highly recommended K
9.5 - 46 Nickel Wound
Have played D'Addario for 25 years. Good strings but I have to say your strings have the most tonal balance I've experienced. They are very smooth to the touch and the only way I can describe the the tone besides balanced is warm, defined and gives off a very vintage vibe. I've installed them on my 355 and Gretsch and am extremely pleased. Will be putting them on my LP Special soon...then will have to order more. Great product.
9.5 Nickel Wound
All Mangan strings are the best. I have tried every other brand for electric strings and always come back to Mangan. Superb tone and feel and long lasting what more can you want? The 9.5 works for me at 67 arthritis and tendonitis makes playing (bending 10’s) too hard on my hands playing for two to three hours. Going to 9.5 alleviates that stress and very little to no loss of tone. Can’t understand why these in between gauges are not more popular.
Fusion strings
Good strings! But am ordering nickle core nickel round wound next! Worth the extra five dollars! Had so nany gits that I used Just Strings bulk for years! Good sounding string s like your fusion set! But of course Intonation problems with no quality control!! Went through the DR...all D strings wouldn’t intonate rhing years ago!! You make a good product! Thanks...Ty M.

Curt Mangan Fusion Matched 9.5 - 46 set
Great strings. Previously used D'addario XLs, Ernie Ball Paradigm. I love the CM 9.5 sets as I find 10's too cumbersom and 9's too light so this is a perfect gauge for me. They last long, sound great, even unplugged and I could not be happier. I thank my guitar tech every time I see him for recommending CMs
Tone quality and how long they sound alive
I spent many years going from one string manufacturer to another trying to develop the perfect sound quality on my guitars and I am incredibly pleased with these strings. My Gretsch Dou jet sounds so good its hard to believe. They play extremely smooth and last longer than all the other strings I have played with. I tend to play relatively hard as well. Thanks for making these !!!
